The signal strength of Higgs production via vector-boson fusion is measured by the CMS experiment in LHC with proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV. The Higgs decays to the di-photon final state is used. The VBF mode offers a special event topology in which two jets tend to the forward directions in detector compared to non-resonant background and other Higgs production, especially gluon-gluon fusion with additional two jets (ggFjj). The rapidity gap between the two jets is large and typically free of other jet activity. The boosted decision tree method exploiting the di-jet kinematics (BDTjj) is applied to separate and reduce the ggFjj and non-resonant backgrounds. Moreover, the analysis performs a combined BDTjj and di-photon invariant mass likelihood fitting in order to achieve a simultaneous measurement of the VBF and ggFjj modes, aiming to reduce the uncertainty of the measured VBF signal strength.
