The status of CMS searches for flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) involving a top quark and a neutral gauge boson will be presented. These studies are based on proton-proton collision data collected with CMS detector at the LHC. Although most analyses are still from 8 TeV, or with 2016 data at 13 TeV only, still, limits on branching ratios have been set around 10–3~10–5 already. Moreover, results of top FCNC searches are expected to push for two orders of magnitudes further at HL-LHC. As a consequence, expectations from some new physics models become accessible in the foreseeable future.
