Outer Space Exploration and Scientific Innovation Planning

National Space Organization (NSPO) was established in 1991 and was established as the executive unit of Taiwan’s space program in accordance with the 15 years of “National Space Technology Development Long-Term Plan” (Phase One Program) approved by Executive Yuan. Through the progress of the national space program, the establishment of domestic large-scale high-tech system integration capabilities, lay the foundation for the development of Taiwan’s space science and technology, and shape Taiwan’s future competitive resources in the international space market and application industry. And the “Second-Phase National Space Technology Development Long-Term Plan” was reviewed and approved by the committee of former National Science Council (now Ministry of Science and Technology) in December 2002. The entire program was planned for 15 years and the period was from 2004 to 2018. The second phase plan continues the first phase plan, with the implementation of satellite programs as the main axis, promotes academic research and industrial development, comprehensively enhances the development of Taiwan’s space science and technology, and meet the needs of the state, civilian, and social services. The “Third-Phase National Space Technology Development Long-Term Plan” is currently under review and waiting for approval. The entire program is planned for the next 10 years (2019-2028). One of the main axes in the program is the outer space exploration and scientific innovation project. The authors would like to present the current project to the academy how NSPO will execute this project.
