Honors/Awards

Prof. Chu is a member of the Astronomical Society of Republic of China (ASROC), American Astronomical Society (AAS), and International Astronomical Union (IAU).  She is the president of the ASROC (2014-2020).  She served the AAS Warner/Pierce Award Committee (1997-1999) and Tinsley Award Committee (2003-2005, chair in 2005).  She served as a member of the Organizing Committee (2003-2009), Vice President (2006-2009) and President (2009-2012) of IAU Division VI, Diffuse Matter.  She organized IAU Symposium No. 190 in 1998, and served on the SOC for several other IAU Symposia on Planetary Nebulae.  She has been awarded telescope times and reviewed proposals for the Hubble Space Telescope, Chandra X-ray Observatory, XMM-Newton X-ray Observatory, Spitzer Space Observatory, Far UV Spectroscopic Explorer, ROSAT, IUE, etc.  She served the Committee of Visitors for the National Science Foundation (2002) and Visiting Committee for the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (2017).   She has been a Board Member of the Gemini International Observatory (2010-2012), East Asian Observatory (2014-pres), and Atacama Large Millimeter/Submillimeter Array (2017-2020).  She has published 230 refereed journal papers and over 100 meeting proceeding papers, and edited the proceedings IAU Symposium No. 190.  She received NTU Physics傑出系友獎 in 2016.
